This is an easy Indian bread to make. Perfect with curry, masala, or hummus.
Combine yeast, sugar, and warm water in medium sized bowl and leave for 8 minutes.
Combine 2 1/2 cups flour and garlic salt. Set aside.
Once yeast is bubbly stir in yogurt, oil and egg.
Mix flour and garlic saltvwith wet ingredients. Add additional flour until dough is no longer sticky. Knead for aproximately 5 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.
Place dough in greased bowl and let rise for an hour.
Heat skillet on stop to just medium heat (or just a bit hotter). Divide dough into eight equal pieces. Flatten out each piece with your hands.
Melt butter and pour in chopped garic (fresh or from a jar). Chop cilantro if desired.
When skillet is hot add a drizzle of oil. Brush naan bread with melted butter and garlic mixture. Fry on one side for 2-3 minutes or until browned. Flip bread and sprinkle with cilantro if desired. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until second side is browned.
Serve warm with hummus, curry, or masala.
