Last week, three moms, with 23 kids between us, met up for some serious self-care. It involved amazing food, great company, and of course, LEGO. We have been planning this Ladies LEGO Night since November. It was canceled twice, due to medical issues, but finally, we did it!

Sarah provided a grazing box from Graze and Gather and a cheese tray from Twin Sisters Creamery. It was amazing! We talked and built and snacked and laughed.
Not only do we have 23 kids between us, but we are all raising children with special needs. This adds another layer of stress and camaraderie to our lives.
You probably already know about my love affair with LEGO. Mostly, I organize them because I find it calming and therapeutic. But this night was all about building. We each brought a brand new LEGO set and got to work play.

I brought this adorable LEGO 3-in-1 Creator set. It can be a toy store, flower shop, or cake shop. Despite my love of LEGO, this is literally the first set I have purchased for myself in adulthood.

Hilary put together the Central Perk Friends set. I have never actually watched Friends, but I want this set anyway. The coffee shop portion is so incredibly detailed. I’m still tempted to buy it…

Sarah had the LEGO Creator Volkswagen T1 Camper Van.
I had so much fun that I suggested we make Ladies’ LEGO Night be a monthly event. Hilary commented that she couldn’t afford to buy a LEGO set every month. I kindly pointed out that there are plenty of sets for under $15. And we weren’t spending that money on coffee or dinner…
Then, I let it drop, not wanting too pushy.
The next morning, I received a text from Hilary saying, “I already bought my set for next month“. Thankfully, I have this little beauty bought on sale and stashed away.
I can hardly wait.
