About Little Earthling Photography

Hello, friends, I am so glad you have found my website! My name is Renee and I have owned my business since 2009 and have been shooting births since 2010. I love shooting lifestyle sessions, kids with special needs, and most of all the miracle of birth. Earlier this year I started partnering with Doulas of Bellingham as their associate photographer.

Hello 2017! Here is a written record of my new year's goals for 2017.

Hello 2017! {New Year’s Goals}

Posted on January 2, 2017June 15, 2019 by Renee

Well hello, 2017! This morning I woke up feeling like the Girl on Fire. Not, unfortunately, because I view myself as some reluctant hero in a dystopian novel I didn’t like in the first place, but because I have a raging sinus infection and my nostrils are burning so badly I feel like I could…

I’ve said it before and I will say it again over and over: Print Your Photos! Digital photos are amazing, but photos deserve to be printed too. Twice this year I have had clients call me close to tears because they lost their digital photos. Not only do we need to print our favorite photos…

Pacific Northwest Hiking [Macro Lens]

Posted on May 3, 2016May 16, 2019 by Renee

Post contains affiliate links. I went hiking with a friend yesterday. A friend. One. Uno.  No children. No strollers. No diaper bags or sippy cups or blankies. We walked for two hours straight without once needing to tie someone’s shoe, doctor a scraped up knee or break up a fight.  The only stops we made,…

Christmas Break

Posted on December 30, 2015February 26, 2018 by Renee

Christmas break has been busy and I’ve had a hard time finding the opportunity to write in this space. Who knows how I managed to blog daily when I was homeschooling ten children…I think our routine was just different then. This break has been wonderful. We’ve gone to the library, read piles of books and…

School’s Cancelled…

Posted on November 13, 2015September 17, 2018 by Renee

This week has been an unusual  week for us.  Enoch and Kalina had a break from their twice a week math class (the teacher is on vacation!) There was no school for Veteran’s Day, so we went swimming….and now today school has been CANCELLED due to power outages from windstorms…and by some bit of providence,…

Life Between Blog Posts

Posted on October 13, 2015June 6, 2019 by Renee

This photo is Odin, and his grandfather. I photographed Odin’s birth last November. A lot goes on in my life, in between the blog posts. Even when I blog everyday. Not everything I do is interesting, or funny or available for public consumption (shocking, I know). Despite my penchant for talking and spilling my thoughts…

Bounty Hunters

My children are clever. And brilliant. They are hardworking entrepreneurs. They also happen to be extortionists opportunists. Remember a few weeks back when we packed up our most treasured items, due to the fire on the mountain across from us? Along with treasured items, I also packed the necessities for my business. Those necessities included the iPad…

Banana Slugs and Super Heroes: We have it all

Posted on April 29, 2015 by Renee

Spring is here and with it has come  warm weather, sunshine and even a camping trip or two. Well, let me clarify: Chuck has taken the older kids camping. As much as I enjoyed camping when I was single and 18 I enjoy camping, I do not enjoy camping in March and April when it is…

Stunning Girl {and some cute kids}

Posted on April 11, 2015June 8, 2019 by Renee

Before Adalia got married, she brought home several garbage bags full of fabric from my mother-in-law. Some of it silky (think super hero capes) and some of it sheer. She never had time to sew with it so it sits here still in my house. While at PhotoLush earlier this year, I was inspired to…
