Today is the first day since April 10th we haven’t had members of BEN!’s family in our house. His sister, Claire, came early to help with the wedding. In the end, she was probably the most valuable member of the wedding party. She helped: plan and coordinate, she ironed all of the wedding shirts, assembled sandwiches the morning of the wedding and much more. When she wasn’t doing that, she was my full-time nanny. All of the kids loved her, and she helped me keep them on track with chores and school and was fine company for me. We miss you Claire!

BEN!’s brother, Jason, arrived a few days before the wedding and quickly took on the “favorite uncle” role. While Claire kept the kids busy with chores and school, Jason taught them to play poker and watched movie after movie with them. He also sustained an injury that required two steri-strips during a game of pursuit with Apollo. Jason left yesterday morning, just before church, and is already missed. Today we begin our adjustment to our new normal of only ten kids at home.

I haven’t had that few kids in the house since early 2007!

And speaking of 2007, that’s the year these three joined our family from Liberia. Aren’t the gorgeous? Keziah was the only one who made it to the wedding (the boys live more than four hours from us). Boaz operates a forklift in a lumber mill, and Ezra just got a job there as well.

I have so, so many pictures I want to share with you, but most are still on my computer in RAW format…I am hoping to get them edited over the next few days.

Happy Monday!

Only 10 kids. Goodness. Y’all might want to do something about that. 😉

Thanks for including the picture of Boaz, Keziah, and Ezra; I always love seeing their beautiful faces and hearing details of their lives now! 🙂
