A few weeks ago Hezekiah earned his Arrow of Light. The Arrow of Light is the highest honor you can earn in Cub Scouting. Hezekiah is our first son to work his way all the way through Cub Scouts from Tiger to Webelos (we began scouting in 2007 when Judah was a Webelos and Enoch a Wolf).
Hezekiah was able to add his name to this plaque and join his brothers Ezra, Boaz, Judah and Enoch as Arrow of Light recipient.
The Arrow of Light ceremony is a very special and reverent time for the boys…
Except when they’re busy goofing off…
Per our family tradition, Hezekiah received a new knife along with his ceremonial arrow.
All seven of our older boys have participated in scouting. Judah came straight from school for the ceremony, so wasn’t in uniform. Mordecai chose not to wear his that night.
And, of course, we always enthusiastically support each other. Even that means dragging a giant blanket along and hiding in it during the ceremony.
For those who stayed the course, sugar was available at the end.
It is so much fun to see the boys grow and learn. Less than two years and Apollo will be a Cub Scout and we’ll start all over again…
Congrats to your boy!
Congratulations!
You must be so proud!
