Ben and Aaron Wrap Up

Well, our time with Ben and Aaron, our favorite New Zealanders, is over. We had a blast while they were here. Hiking, extreme trampolining, hot air ballooning (just Ben and Adalia), swimming, the beach, ice skating, tie dying, a bonfire…it was pretty much non-stop fun.

As I mentioned before, Ben and Adalia met last summer on their missions trip to Honduras. They have spent the last year corresponding by mail, email, facebook, skype and phone. They have clearly formed quite an attachment with each other. It was so nice to meet  Ben and see that he is indeed just as nice in person as Adalia described.

And now life shall return to the mundane…you know, just average life with eleven kids at home, homeschooling, a photography business, a teen at the community college,  a tube-fed toddler with a rare heart defect facing repeat heart surgery, five kids in elementary school, two with special needs…Hopefully I’ll be around here blogging a bit more now. I’ve missed you all.

I’m so glad your family was able to have a blast with your visitors. Sometimes that’s what a family needs to break up the routine and do fun things in the local area that otherwise you just might not take the time to do. It’s usually what’s made our family see alot of our “local attractions” through the years. We thought it was quite funny when our friends visiting from Australia were fascinated and downright excited about a squirrel in our yard. It’s neat to see things from a different perspective.

Looks like a great time was had by all….Any plans for Adalia to see Ben again in person? Or just “summer lovin’?” 😉 … It is so much easier with fb, skype ,texts etc to keep something like that alive….a few yrs ago it would have just been good ole snail mail..good thing..bad thing? wonder how it will all play out.

Beautiful pics! Nice fall weather here in Mi….Odd not having Mi apples this year due to frost this spring.no canning…Eli’s finalization coming up… that may call for some S’mores!!!!!! Was too hot this summer!

Again, it looks like you all had a great time!!!

I can’t remember were the young men who visited brothers?

Curious if any leads for Apollo. Praying as always!

The hot air ballooning pictures are amazing! (Although I can’t imagine I’d ever go in one myself.) If I’m remembering correctly, you and Chuck met on a TMI trip, right?

haha yes Liz, we have Vegemite in New Zealand, but also Marmite, which is basically the same thing, but made in New Zealand, whereas Vegemite is made in Australia. I like it, it’s yummy, tho i’m sure Renee will disagree hahaha 🙂
