One of the perks of being a youth group leader? Being invited to Lake Day. Okay, not really since I have gone the past two years as a chaperone anyway. Saturday is what will likely prove to be one of the last warm, sunny, summer days here in our part of the country. We were able to soak up hours of it on Saturday. Swimming, boating, tubing and plenty of good friend and good food. It was a perfect day!
Is there anything more awkward cuter than Jr High girls?
I love that my kids are growing up so close to the water. As you well know, they are almost native mammals when it comes to this nearby lake. My older kids (Adalia, Judah, Tilly and Enoch) were always timid around water. Then suddenly, that cycle was broken with Kalina and the rest of my kids have been practically amphibious. Even the ones who don’t swim well yet, love to be in and near the water. It makes summer so much more pleasant!
We had milkshakes all day long, served up by these cute little baristas!
And then a bit of worship music in the evening.
Most of all though? Just time to build friendships, soak in the sun and have a boatload of fun!
Can’t wait for Lake Day 2016!
It looks like such a beautiful part of the world! All that sunshine and fresh air are good for the soul 🙂 Belinda x
How lucky you are to have a lake nearby! And what fun to be able to sit on a pier, swing one’s legs and enjoy the warmth of a summer day.
