Touring Bellingham: Boulevard Park and Mallard Ice Cream
We didn’t get to spend nearly as much time with Jared’s family we would have liked. Jared’s mom, dad and two of his three brothers spent just over a week here. Monday after the wedding Jared’s brother, Dylan, spent the day with us and decided to take him to one of the best spots in Bellingham, Mallard Ice Cream.
Mallard Ice Cream offers a variety of fun flavors like Black Licorice, Cinnamon, and my favorite, Cappuccino (no surprise there).
This is Hezekiah’s reaction as Jubilee explains to him her rationale behind needing to take six pairs of shoes to summer camp. I wish I was joking. I really do. I don’t own six pair of footwear, nor have I ever owned that many in my 22 years of marriage. So much for large family minimalism.
After our amazingly healthy lunch of ice cream, we headed to the nearby Boulevard Park. This park is right on Bellingham Bay. It has everything you could want in a park: playground, sand, beach, grass, hipsters, a coffee shop, railroad tracks, boardwalk, cigarette butts and dog poop.
It’s pretty much perfect.
Kalina brought along her hula hoop to show off her SKILLZ.
Kalina makes friends wherever she goes…she even befriends the crabby type.

My house is nearly empty at the moment. If you consider four kids empty.
Enoch is at work. Kalina is back from Peru but is now up in Canada with her grandparents and cousins. Jubilee and Hezekiah are at camp (btw, 19 days is too long for a summer camp).
That leaves me with just The A Team and Tucker.
I’m taking donations of coffee, cash and sanity.
Remeber, anything helps.
The shoe thing made me giggle. I always enjoy your humor…particularly your description of the park. Cute photos! Your kids have so much personality.
Thank you. Yes, they are characters for sure!
